Kindergarten is where Learning Begins!

At Bay City Public Schools, our kindergarten classrooms are nurturing spaces where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. Our goal is to help each child build confidence, form friendships, and develop a lifelong love of learning while establishing a strong foundation for a solid academic career. With caring teachers, hands-on experiences, and plenty of time to engage, explore, and grow, we focus on the skills that matter most during these important early years.

Student success depends on strong learning in the classroom and opportunities beyond it. That’s why we offer a wide range of academic programs, clubs, activities, and athletics, and we continually review our instruction, services, and supports to meet the needs of students and families from preschool through high school.

Our offerings include preschool, Gifted and Talented, dual enrollment with Delta College, Early College, arts and music, special education, co-op and career/technical education, world languages, alternative education, after-school programs, student organizations, and athletics from elementary through our two Class A high schools.

    If your kindergartner is your first student to enroll at Bay City Public Schools, welcome and we are so happy you have chosen BCPS!

    • Child's Birth Certificate
    • Proof of Residency (2 items)
    • Immunization Record

    VISION, DENTAL & HEARING SCREENINGS: Screenings are required and can be completed at the Health Department or your pediatrician's office.
