Superintendent Seebeck began serving as the interim superintendent of Bay City Public Schools on November 18, 2024.
Rick Seebeck brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise, having recently retired after serving 18 years as superintendent of Gladwin Community Schools. During his tenure in Gladwin, Seebeck guided the district through periods of both challenge and success, emphasizing student achievement, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement. His leadership helped transform Gladwin into a financially stable district focused on excellence in education.
Before his time in Gladwin, Seebeck served as an assistant principal and special education department head at Midland Public Schools, where he worked closely with staff to improve instructional outcomes for students. His career began as a teacher, earning recognition as Michigan's Alternative Education Teacher of the Year in 1993. Seebeck holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Saginaw Valley State University and a Bachelor of Science from Central Michigan University.
